This project investigates the application of electrophoretic deposition (EPD), both using direct and alternating current, DC EPD and AC EPD respectively, to develop new bioceramic-based coatings for orthopedic applications. (Nano)materials being considered are titania, bioactive class and diamond and their combinations to optimise the hardness, toughness and bioactivity of the coatings.
